A new day

Every day I am here I learn something new, experience something unexpected, am surprised (usually happily) and today was no exception. :)

This week is the beginning of the new term, and what will most likely be my last term.

After finishing the Winter session, Mom and her friend Maria came to visit for 10 days. What a whirlwind. It was indescrible…really…to be with my Mom again.  To fight, to laugh, to lean on her shoulders for a while. I didnt realize how much I missed her until she came.

Following our trips to Meknes, Marrakech and back to Rabat, I dropped them off at the airport where they safely arrived back in the states.  Upon getting back to Rabat, I felt as if I just walked out of a wind tunnel.  I had the weekend to relax and then started on Monday. Today is Friday and it seems as if 2 weeks have passed so far.

In a huge leap of faith and possible insanity, after living in a rented room for the past 5 months, I'd had the last straw.  I hired a real estate agent and took the first place I saw.  Part of the time Maria and Mom were here was spent furnishing and sleeping in this new apartment.  It is an unbelievable feeling coming from where I was living to where I am now.  Washing machine -to- washing by hand in a bucket.  The sounds of a baby screaming all the time - to - the 5 daily calls to prayer.  Making my own meals -to-  well…that's the same :) but now I know that only I will be eating them :)

So the term started as it always does.  9am phone calls from Kenn on Monday telling us what class we will teach…on Monday.  Usually another call OR 2 to change the class sometimes as well. Monday night we know our Tuesday schedule, Tuesday night we know our Wednesday and so on.  So as of right now, I am teaching: Pre-Intermediate 1, Pre-Intermediate  4, Inspiration 4, Mega 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate Business at the University and Upper Intermediate 4.  That's 7 levels which is complete and utter insanity.  I also have 2 private students. A 10 year old boy in need of "mechanics" help and a 35 year old man in need of asking his boss for a raise in English.

Could I have a more diverse schedule??? I think not.
